REPlant:

to move a dying church from an unhealthy pot (leadership, ministry style, mission, doctrine, facility, location, etc.) to a new pot so that life can resume, fruit can grow, and the world can experience the amazing life a healthy church provides. REPlant is dedicated to the open discussion of all things church as they pertain to the concept of REPlanting.

First Service!!!

For those of you following the REPlant process of our local church, we are finally in our new facility.  Our first Sunday was really full, both in the parking lot and in the building.

We haven't advertised to the community yet, but already I am feeling concerned about the space we have to work with and having only one service.  I don't want to be pre-mature in scheduling a second service, but this being August and many are still vacationing... hmmm. A great problem to have.

The first service was relatively problem free.  Our leaders did a great job improvising in every way, Worship was amazing. The sound was incredible.  The technology was off the hook! The altar service was powerful. There's nothing like a being in a gathering that is focused on Jesus!

This week I'll try to put together a video tour of the facility and post it. We've tried to design a facility that makes sense to visitors, uses every square foot, versatile, full of technology (still installing some of that stuff) and sellable for something other than a church in the future (designed to be resold as a commercial retail pad).

One thing to keep in your prayers... some of our financing is slow in coming in. We sold bonds and the bond company has been slow with this final issue.  I don't want to owe my contractor anything, especially now that we are in the building. He is an awesome guy and we've been able to build a great relationship.  He's allowed me to share my testimony with him and to pray for Him. I don't want the testimony tainted!
